Now that the site is fuctional and the database has all the key components needed, Diatonic Studios is ready to open its doors to audio artists. The goal of Diatonic Studios is to supply animators, producers, and developers a high-quality database of free music to use in their projects. Because of this, audio artists must audition to upload their music (one-time audition only) to help keep the site's content at a high quality. This ultimately benefits you, because a site with a high reputation will attract more serious developers than a site with a lower reputation, which will lead to greater exposure to you, the audio artist. Why join? You'll recieve a lot of benefits, including: - Another outlet for exposure (Diatonic Studios averages between 15,000 and 30,000 visitors per month and counting, all visitng the site in search for audio)

For those of you who hadn't noticed, development on the site stopped for about 2 months. This is because I started to become extremely busy, and since this site had reached a point in production where I would need to dedicate a lot of time to it, I halted work. Now that summer is here and I have more free time again, I've started development. One big new feature that I added was an audio database navigation bar at the top of the website, so you can go to any part of the database with just a couple of clicks. This is much easier than going to the database manually and shifting through several pages to get to the category you want. Also, I've made some smaller updates to the database to make it easier to navigate. I'm currently working on hiring a development team to help me code out a few features for the database that I can't do. Right now I'm paying for this site out of my own pocket. I'd greatly appreciate any support you could give to help make this site self-sufficient. Checking out this site's sponsors by clicking on an ad or two a day helps a huge amount. I've been working on a lot of new music for various projects (including a few exclusive to the database), so I'd thought I'd give you a peak at what I'm working on. The first piece, entitled The Pharaoh's Tomb , is almost complete. It's an industrial-based piece with a pretty heavy Arabic flare to it. You'll notice that I mainly used the Double Harmonic Major scale (Also known as the Arabic scale) to create the melodies and bass lines, with the exception of the middle section where everything stops except for the organ, strings, choir and guitar. Here's a summary of the storyline: 0:00-0:20: Intro material that sets up the piece. 0:20-0:43: A traveler is searching for a Pharoah's Tomb to find a lost artifact. 0:43-0:53: He finds the tomb and enters cautiously. 0:53-1:15: He searches the tomb. 0:15-1:39: He finds a giant room filled with treasure and looks in awe. 1:39-1:56 : He finds the lost artifact and is amazed that it has finally been recovered. 1:56-end : The tomb starts to crumble and the traveler tries to escape before he is trapped inside forever. The second piece is much more "In the works". It's a very delicate piece, meant to be like a somber lullaby. The project name is "Sorrow ", but I'll come up with an actual name before it's finished.
